NYC – a few tips

Hello girls!
I’m back from my trip in NYC and wanted to share a few pictures with you, and some adresses as some of you asked me 🙂
NYC is an amazing place, with the craziest energy ever, and a lot of things to do. Of course you can do shopping like nowhere else, but you can also eat in amazing restaurant, walk around Manhattan and Brooklyn for hours and never stop looking around you (and up) and be amazed. There are also a lot of museums, art galleries, shows, etc…

First of all, if I should advice you somewhere to sleep, or at least a neighborood it would be Soho/Nolita/Greenwich Village. These are my favourites places in Manhattan, that’s where you’ll find the majority of nice restaurants and shops, and these neighborood are very charming. This time I’ve been with my 2 brothers at Time Square. Time Square is of course very amazing, especially when you come for the first time in NY but i wouldnt advice you to stay there because there are too much tourists, noise, lights, etc.
What’s nice to do also in NY is to find an appartment via AirbNb or something, I did that too one year and really liked it.

I let you guys with the pictures and will give you all my adresses at the end of this post. xx

NYC DAY 4

Fourth day in NYC started with the inevitable BREAKFAST. This time we went to Sarabeth, typical american restaurant, in the South of central park (40 Central PArk S, at 6th av) where i ate, once again, super delicious pancakes (and also the benedict eggs of my boyfriend).
Then we took a cab to go on East Village and Alphabet City, really nice and more quite neighbourood in Manhattan.
We stopped at the legendary KATZ DELICATESSEN, a must see place in NY, i really felt like i was in a movie or something (see the video on my Facebook page –>https://www.facebook.com/StylingPot) to taste the HUGE pastrami sandwich, which were really good but a bit hard to eat (see the size on the pics).
After that we went to the Lower east side and Greenwich Village, walking trough the streets, ..
Around 5 we had to go back (in a hurry, to change) to the Hotel to take the luggages and go to the station.
We took a train to Washington, it took 2.45 hours, and we arrived at my boyfriend’s sister place.
We ate at a wonderful restaurant called Zaytinya, which is a Greek/Libanese place, and it was really good.

NOW, THE PICTURES!

NYC DAY 3

The third day in NYC was really cool : we started with breakfast at Balthazar, which is an institution here in NYC, a french styled brasserie which serve gorgeous breakfast, located in Soho.

After that we started a biiiiig session of shopping around Soho, which is my favorite place (in the world) to go shopping.

Once again, i found lots of things 🙂

We had a lunch in a great restaurant where the food was really delicious, called David Burke Kitchen (in the James Hotel, SoHo) then we went back to shopping, and in the end of the day we made a manicure and pedicure in a great place called Black Label Nail & Spa on Lexington Ave., it was sooo relaxing (because yes my life is stressful).

After a quick step in the hotel, we ate at The Mercer Kitchen in Soho, then we had a drink in a speakeasy bar called The Mulburry Project (in Little Italy) and a last one in the 230 Fifth Rooftop which offer an amazing view on Manhattan.

NYC Day 2

The second day in NYC was perfect. We woke up and had breakfast at Nougatine, beautiful place very classy, part of the restaurant Jean Georges (1 Central Park West), i highly recommend it to you, the breakfast was so delicious !!!
After that we came back by walk to the hotel, walking trough central park with a beautiful sun shining all the way.
Then i made shopping all the morning, while the others were working (hard life i know) and i found a lot of things 😉 (see the pictures) !!
When they finished working, we had lunch at Shake Shack, it’s a kind of fast food they have in NYC everywhere, serving delicious burgers and fries 🙂
Then we walked around the Upper West, it’s a very nice part of Manhattan that i didn’t knew before.
After that we came back in a hurry to the hotel to get change, because we had to go to the Madison square Garden to see a hockey game, the NYC RANGERS against the canadian WINIPEGS 🙂 it was so much fun!!!
The stadium is huge, and was completely full of crazy people yelling to support the Rangers, everybody was wearing the rangers equipment, eating crappy food, singing… it was really funny I’m really glad we did that.
As it finished around 10pm we were a bit hungry and wanted to have a drink somewhere so we went to Schillers in the Lower East. It’s a really nice place we liked a lot, typical of NYC, with néon on the wall and an old fashioned decoration.
then we came back to the hotel to sleep 🙂
pictures now!

Hi everyboodyy!! How is it going?

Im in NYC since sunday, so happy!! this city is just pure awesomeness.
Im really sorry for not posting but the wifi offered by the hotel doesn’t work well and its impossible to upload the pictures.

We arrived in NY on sunday morning, after having a VERY good trip (being upgraded in first class JEEEESUS!!), we took a cab to the Hotel (we re staying at the Sofitel, next to 5th av) and then we had a walk around and we ate at EAT (on the upper east).
After that, a bit of shopping, a little drink in a bar called Whisky Blue, then back to the Hotel to get changed and we went to a beautiful italian restaurant in the Meatpacking, called Figs & Olives, it was delicious. At the end of the night it was a bit difficult to stay awake and we were very happy to go to sleep and have a good night 🙂
I let you discover everything with the pics..IMG_4861

Yes Shooting at Penta Hotel

A few weeks ago with the Yes Boutique Team we shot at the Pental Hotel in Brussels. I already knew these hotels because i had the opportunity to spend a night in the Penta Hotel in Liege and it was really nice. I love the concept and the decoration, you feel like you’re in a Chalet at the moutains or in a huge NYC loft..red bricks on the walls, library full of books, big chesterfields..
Anyway, it was a great momoment ! Have a look at the pics and let me know what you think ! x

Hi there.. how are you? To be honest, I’m sad and depressed today and I hesitated to post this on the blog. After the weekend we’ve had in Belgium, the killing of 4 people in the Jewish Museum and the elections results, I just want to stay in my bed or to leave as far away as I can from here. But, life goes on, like always. We have to fight and stay strong even when its hard. But honestly, i still cant believe what happened in my own city. All my thoughts are for the victims families. I know its not what you expect to read on my blog, its supposed to be fun and fashion oriented but i cant help myself to say something about it, since i think about it all the time.
Anyway, I’m glad we have the blog to think about other things, and escape a little bit even for 5 minutes… I wish you a good week! x

The long black dress

A month ago, more or less, my best friend organized his bday party at home, and that’s what I wore. I wanted something a bit special, as I knew we were (very) probably going out after, so I wanted to be a bit « party-dressed » but not too much, so I opted for this long dress (with a huge open back –> remember i talked to you about open back a few weeks ago 🙂 ) BUT flat shoes of course, and a little military jacket to break the too feminine look. What do you think?

☆ My top 5 favorite bloggers ☆

Hello everyone!
Today I wanted to share with you my top 5 favorite bloggers, the girls who really inspire me in my everyday life.
So, let’s get this started.

1. Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad
Nothing surprising here, everybody knows Chiara Ferragni. Even though, she is the first blogger I started to follow, a few years ago. It was (at least for me) the beginning of the blogging world, and I directly liked The Blonde Salad and started to follow her really often.
I think what I love the most with Chiara Ferragni is more the way she became so successful than her style in itself. This girl is really an example and a source of inspiration for me, the way she succeed with her blog, all the projects she participated to, the collaborations with the brands, the creation of her own shoe line, etc etc, all of this is just amazing. And of course, no need to say that her beautiful doll face, her perfect body and the incredible wardrobe she has can help 😉

2. Danielle Bernstein from WeWoreWhat
One of my BIG crush from the recent months. I just love her style. Always very sober, but every single piece is perfectly chosen. She has crazy shoes, and a huge collection of cropped top. Daniele, you rock! And, the best part is that she’s from NYC so I can enjoy the pictures of the best city in the world everytime I visit her blog 🙂

3. Christina Caradona from Trop Rouge
Once again, a new yorker (at still, living there) ! How weird is that?
What I like the most in the blog Trop Rouge, is the pictures. Damn they’re amazing. I like the fact that you really enter and discover Christina’s world trough her blog, its not only about outfits. She has a very unique style, you will never find anything similar, and I think that’s her strenght, to be really original and to stay simple.

4. Julie Sarinana from Sincerely Jules
For me she represents the perfect blogger, she always have beautiful pictures, AMAZING OUTFITS, she has all the hit shoes, bags, and clothes we all dream about. She is super cute, and she offers us a lot of beautiful landscapes and different views from different cities where she travels. I just love her style, and cherry on the top, she’s a real foodie, just like me 😉

5. Lizzy Van der Ligt from http://www.lizzyvdligt.com/
Lizzy is my latest crush. Honestly, she’s too cool. She has amazing clothes, and i’m always wondering where the hell did she get these?
She has a hippie/bobo chic side that i adore, she is super cute AND she loves Ibiza. I think she understood everything in life 😉 What I appreciate the most in her blog is that she really transmits her joy, in her clothes, wearing a lot of colorful pieces and in her beautiful pictures. She always smile, and for that, thank you Lizzy, and keep going, you rock!
